Three London rooms run weekly public tournaments.
- Grosvenor Casino The Victoria ("the Vic"), 150–162 Edgware Road, near Edgware Road tube, is open 24 hours with cash games around the clock and a high-stakes area. Its weekly tournaments run about £115–£220, and it hosts Grosvenor's festivals, including GUKPT London.
- Empire Casino, on Leicester Square by Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus tubes, runs 24-hour cash games: usually £1/£2, £1/£3 and £2/£5 no-limit Hold'em, and £1/£1 and £1/£2 PLO. Rake is 5% capped at £10, no flop no drop. There is a midday tournament every day (£74–£164) plus some 6:30pm events, but none on the first Sunday of the month.
- Genting Casino Stratford, in Westfield Stratford City by Stratford station, calls itself the country's biggest poker room. It spreads no-limit Hold'em and PLO cash games daily and weekly tournaments from a £10 Monday league game to £115. A £120 London Super Deep Stack runs at the end of each month, and the room hosts Genting's British Poker Series events. 3% of each tournament buy-in goes to staff gratuities unless you ask to change it.
The Hippodrome has cash games around the clock in its PokerStars LIVE room, but runs tournaments only as monthly series.
Entry. All rooms are 18+. Grosvenor signs you up as a member at reception, so bring a driving licence or other official ID. Empire charges no entry fee and needs no membership, but asks for ID after 9pm. Genting asks for photo ID or a membership card at the door. Smart casual works everywhere, but Genting bars caps, hats and football shirts.
