Free Poker Bankroll Spreadsheet
A free Excel template for tracking live poker. It works in Google Sheets too.
Log your cash games and tournaments, and the summary tab works out your profit, hourly rate and BB per hour by stake, venue, month and year.
No email, no account. The file is yours to keep and change.
Using Google Sheets? Upload the file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. The formulas work there too.
What's inside
Sessions
One row per cash game: date, venue, game, stakes, buy-in, cash-out, tips and expenses. Profit, hours, hourly rate and BB per hour fill in by formula.
Tournaments
One row per tournament: buy-in, rebuys, add-ons, prize, finishing place and field size, with profit and ROI worked out for you.
Summary
Totals that update as you add rows: results by stake, by venue, by month and by calendar year, the figure a tax return asks for.
How to use it
- Download the file and open it in Excel, or upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets.
- Delete the example rows, then add a row each time you finish playing. Write amounts as plain numbers, in whatever currency you play in.
- Open the Summary tab to see your hourly rate at each stake and which venues are profitable for you.
When a spreadsheet stops being enough
A sheet works well when you play a few times a month. It gets harder as you play more: logging on your phone at the table, results in more than one currency, a running clock, and charts that keep themselves up to date. We wrote about where spreadsheets fall short in how to track your poker sessions.
When you get there, nothing is lost. Save the Sessions or Tournaments tab as a CSV file (File, Download, CSV in Google Sheets; File, Save As, CSV UTF-8 in Excel) and import it into PokerCharts. The columns already match, so your history comes across in one step.
Free for your first 10 sessions. Sessions you import that were played more than a week earlier do not count toward the 10.
Questions
Is the spreadsheet really free?
Yes. There is no email form and no account. Download it, change it however you like, and keep it.
Can I use it for online poker?
Yes. Put the site name in the venue column. The sheet treats a session the same way wherever you played it.
What is BB per hour?
Your hourly result divided by the big blind. It lets you compare results across stakes: winning $30 an hour at $1/$2 is 15 BB per hour, a better rate than $40 an hour at $2/$5, which is 8.
